ABOUT US
When I was a young girl in grade school, we were asked to write a report on a foreign country.  I chose Afghanistan, and when my eyes rested on the Afghan Hound I was instantly in LOVE.  Of course I was a young child and the family pet was "Mitzi" the standard poodle.
In 1971, when I could make decisions for myself, I purchased my first afghan hound "Shane" from, what I did not know at the time, yes, a backyard breeder. I was living in Ft.Lauderdale at the time, with my parents, and they adapted just fine to our new family member.  I began showing my new puppy at only puppy matches of course, and although we were not lucky enough to get a ribbon, I was having fun.
In 1973, I moved to Columbus, Ohio and joined a the newly formed, Sighthound Club of Columbus and I was a charter member of the Owner Handlers Club of Ohio.  I did take a long break for about 18 years, to raise my family, although we always have an afghan hound in the house.  Finally, the boys are grown and gone and now it is my turn to return to my passion. Along with the two rescue girls, "Princess Sheena" who crossed over the bridge a few years ago, and "Lexie" who continues to monitor the kitchen countertops at the age of 13, we are having fun. And yes, then there are the Crested Puffs.
